Karen George, of Manhattan, lives above Madonna in a building on Central Park. She said in a lawsuit filed Friday against the building’s co-op board that Madonna is using her apartment as a rehearsal studio, forcing neighbors to endure “blaring music, stomping and shaking walls,” for up to three hours each day.  That Madonna must have some energy, George complained about “unreasonably high decibel, amplified music” and vibrations pouring through walls, ceilings and radiators. The building’s board says it has already threatened to evict Madonna.

It has been claimed bosses on ‘The Tudors’ spoke to Jonathan Rys Meyers about his alcohol intake while filming the TV show’s upcoming third season. A source said: “Jonathan Rhys Meyers is one of the nicest guys in the world, he’s a pleasure to work with.  Jonathan Rhys Meyers has his demons all right, and he’s trying to cope with them as best he can.” This is the third time the 31 year old star has spent time at a clinic. In 2005, Jonathan Rhys Meyers  attended Promises in Malibu where Lindsay Lohan, Britney Spears and Tara Reid have also been treated and returned for a second stint in 2007. Jonathan Rhys Meyers recently prompted concerns for his health when he was spotted looking dishevelled while purchasing what appeared to be a bottle of vodka. He has previously spoken about his battle with alcohol, saying: “When I do drink I’m like Bambi. I’m all over the place, hopeless, like a 16 year old kid. People notice.” In November 2007,  Jonathan Rhys Meyers was arrested after a drunken row with airport staff in Ireland.  New Year’s Eve entertainment is “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2009,” The show has a prime time hour at 10 p.m. ET, breaks for news, then returns with Swift, the Jonas Brothers and Lionel Richie in Times Square.  Carson Daly is hosting his fifth New Year’s Eve special on NBC, an hour in prime time, a break for news, and a longer party. T.I., Ludacris, Katy Perry, the Ting Tings and Elton John all join Daly.  Daughtry and Scott Weiland are featured players on Fox’s late night special, with Spike Feresten and Mark Thompson as hosts. It airs at 11 p.m. ET.  Anderson Cooper,  teamed with comic Kathy Griffin, is in Times Square for CNN, which boasts a lineup of Lil Wayne, My Morning Jacket and Hinder. Fox’s “U Party 2009″ has LoCash Cowboys and Chuck Hicks.

“If there’s a message, it’s ‘you gotta help somebody.’ Even if it’s somebody’s car breaking down, use your cell phone. Something little like that. We gotta help one another to get the quality of life we’re all striving for,”  Will Smith said in an interview with the Star Tribune.  Will Smith’s appearance Friday for a local premier at a theater in suburban Edina was also a fundraiser for Second Harvest Heartland, the state’s largest hunger relief organization. Tickets were given to the first 250 people who donated nonperishable food. Will Smith and Vikings player Bernard Berrian also donated 300 holiday dinners to the organization.

In response to Coldplay’s statement, Satriani’s lawyer, Howard E. King, said Coldplay’s public reaction was dramatically different from how the guitarist’s claims were treated before the lawsuit was filed.  “We attempted to have a dialogue on this before we went public,” King said. “We felt almost forced to file suit.”  As far as the ‘coincidence,’ ultimately that’s for a jury to decide,” he added. King said it’s common for musicians to be influenced by other works and incorporate it into their own, sometimes a little too closely.  “It doesn’t mean you don’t owe something to the original composer,” he said.    In a statement released on Tuesday, the band responded to a copyright infringement lawsuit filed by guitarist Joe Satriani “If there are any similarities between our two pieces of music, they are entirely coincidental, and just as surprising to us as to him. Joe Satriani is a great musician, but he did not write the song ‘Viva La Vida.’ We respectfully ask him to accept our assurances of this and wish him well with all future endeavours.”
